Shopping can sure be daunting: There are miles of styles to plow through, pushy salespeople to contend with and the inevitable conclusion of a closet full of nothing to wear. Julie Watson, formerly the Senior Director of merchandising for Banana Republic, doles out style advice with a personal touch. Before she meets with clients, she has them fill out a personal profile; next, Watson offers a closet consultation to see what pieces her clients already have and "re-merchandises" the closet by category and color. Watson then creates a "shopping strategy" based on a list of what her client needs, taking budget, fit and style into consideration. She will shop with or without the client.
Watson's key piece of fashion advice: "I think chic is all about confidence, and knowing what you love, and wearing it!" and for summer, she says: "I'm loving maxi (long) dresses paired with flat sandals: very Palm Springs chic."
