where {texture & pattern} collide

Great blazers are essential to any work wardrobe, whether you work in a business professional or business casual environment. While we love a beautifully tailored classic suit, another fun way to spice up your work wardrobe is to mix in a great textured or patterned blazer.  We call these work wardrobe staples “item blazers”  as they’re not part of a head to toe suit.  Rather, they’re a “stand alone” item that can add great versatility to your work wardrobe.  If item blazers are a new addition to your wardrobe, begin by choosing textures or patterns that are classic and timeless, like tweeds or stripes. Couple an item blazer with a shift dress, or partner one with a feminine blouse or underpinning and a pair of great trousers or a perfect pencil skirt, and you’ll look professional and polished…but with a bit more pizzaz!

Now, what to pair with these interesting numbers? Play it clean by pairing your patterned item blazer with solid color counterparts… or go a bit bolder complimenting it with prints that work back to the dominant colors in the texture or pattern of the blazer. And for those of you who have a more casual dress code, there’s nothing more “casually polished” than an item blazer with a dark rinse jean. To tell a bit of a “black and white” story, here are just a few of our recent favorites…
